The Obligatory End of Year Post
I generally hate this kind of posts, but decided to do one anyway since it’s been a while since I las blogged. The end of the year has been a busy time.
Professional Highlights of 2010
- Left my employer to really focus on my own company. Velocis has had a great 7 months and is growing nicely. I was able employ 2 other people for much of that time.
- Launch of FoundTown.com, our first major client application
- Our own apps are moving forward slowly but surely and we added Floxee to our portfolio.
- I’ve been doing it all from Lima, Perú!
Personal Highlights of 2010
- Sold most of my possessions, packed up what was left, loaded it into a 1975 Mercedes 300D, drove it from Texas to Oregon, packed two bags and moved to Perú.
- Family visiting me in Perú for two weeks. We had a blast!
- Spent my first Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere (aka SUMMERTIME) and will spend my first “año nuevo” outside the US… in Perú
- Made a ton of amazing new friend.
Overall I have to say I’m pretty pleased with how 2010 has gone. Sure there have been some downers (divorce, losing my Grandma, etc), but in general I can’t complain. This next year is all about growth. Growing my company, growing our apps, growing as a business owner and leader and growing as a human being. So here’s to 2011… Salud! I’ll drink a pisco sour for you.
